Hematite is believed to bring stability, balance and strength; it is often used to bring support to the Root/ Base Chakra, encouraging grounding and a positive connection with the life path and the life foundations.  It is also very much used in bringing protection due to repelling negative energies from people and situations that may be causing pressure. Lava stone is believed to support the Fire element and creative energy, which particularly promotes power and passion.  Combined with the grounding properties of Hematite, it is believed to bring stability, strength and confidence. 
 
Lava beads can be used as essential oil diffusers due to their porosity; essential oils must be diluted with a carrier oil before a small drop is placed on a few beads sparingly, for gentle diffusion throughout the day.  Lava stones are waxed for protection, however all alcohol-containing products such as lotions and perfume should be avoided.
