JEWELLERY CARE

Most semi-precious gemstones are porous and should not be worn in water; always remove your jewellery before swimming, showering and bathing, or when coming in contact with high levels of moisture.  Water can damage your stones and cord, causing the stones to crack and the cord to fray and snap, reducing the longevity of your jewellery.

Perfumed products and chemicals such as body sprays, perfume, creams and sun lotions should be avoided; these can break down the stone’s structure and surface finish, and cause discolouration and loss of natural lustre.

Elasticated bracelets should be rolled over the hand rather than stretched to avoid snapping.  They can naturally stretch over time, so it is recommended that you periodically check your pieces and restring if needed.
